Lactation Care

Breastfeeding is natural, but that doesn’t make it easy. It can also look different for different families. Our certified lactation counselors are here to support you in meeting your goals on your breastfeeding journey. Whether that means exclusive feeding at the breast, pumping and bottle feeding or using a mix of breastmilk and formula, our providers will assist you and help your baby thrive.

Our dual training as speech-language pathologists and certified lactation counselors makes us uniquely qualified to address your baby’s needs. We have specialized training in feeding & swallowing. This allows us to target potential concerns related to suck:swallow:breathe coordination and the effects of differences in anatomy and oral-motor skill development. Our therapists have pursued additional training related to the impacts of tethered oral tissues/tongue tie. This includes pre- and post-procedure intervention if a release is indicated. We also have training on the impact of body tension patterns and torticollis on feeding. We are able to incorporate therapeutic strategies to support whole-body comfort for improved breastfeeding.

Their expertise made breastfeeding so much easier and comfortable for both me and my baby.
