Starting Solids with Confidence

There’s conflicting information out there about starting solid foods. Different doctors may give different advice and let's not even get started with social media. Is there one best method for starting solids and will you ruin your baby’s relationship with food if you pick the wrong one? (Nope!) This class presents current practices for starting solid foods and helps you find what works best for your family. Preparing for solids, seating, allergens, cup drinking and more. For parents of babies 4 - 9+ months.

Toddlers have big feelings about everything, so of course those feelings are expressed at mealtime. What do you do when your baby becomes a person who throws their cup on the floor, shouts, “NO!” and refuses dinner only to beg for cheez-its 20 minutes later? This class will help you support variety in your child’s diet without pressuring them to eat or becoming a short-order cook by understanding your mealtime roles. For parents/caregivers of babies/toddlers 10 months through 3 years.

Engaging sessions for babies and preschoolers to grow and learn.

TummyTime! Method

How do you fit tummy time into your schedule and what can you do if your baby doesn’t like it? TummyTime! Method is a way of doing tummy time that helps make it a predictable, comfortable and a fun time to bond with your baby while working on important motor skills. Classes help you learn techniques and troubleshoot potential problems so you and your baby can learn to love tummy time together! Newborns through pre-crawling.

TummyTime! Method (TTM) was developed by a pediatric occupational therapist and Tanya has completed training to be a professional provider, offering group classes. For our infant feeding/lactation clients Tanya uses TTM therapeutically as part of a whole-body approach to feeding and development.

Play & Learn Language

Babies and toddlers learn through play in the setting of their daily routines. These play-based group classes are designed to help you build your little one’s speech-language and developmental skills as you go about your everyday activities, no special toys or flashcards needed! Classes for crawlers and toddlers (up to age 3).

Baby Munch Bunch

For those who have taken our Starting Solids parent class and want a bit of guided practice and encouragement using what you learned in a mealtime setting. Pack a snack and join us for a picnic-style small group. For this group babies can be seated on a parent’s lap or you are welcome to bring a travel feeding seat/booster if you have one. Ages 6-12 months.

Preshool Food Adventure

A curriculum designed to help kids make friends with new foods through exploration with all their senses. Lessons include stories, music and movement along with the chance to “meet” a new food and use it to prepare a recipe. Designed for all kids, but may be especially helpful for those who are wary of new foods to engage in a pressure free environment. Ages 3-6* (*Please get in touch if you’re interested for your older child or in bringing the Food Adventure to your preschool or co-op.)
